Most children get the support they need to grow up secure, healthy and independent. But not always. Some children are abused or neglected. The harm they suffer can last a lifetime. Whether we are relatives of children, or just ordinary citizens, we all have a role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children. If you think a child - any child - is being abused or neglected you must report the case to the police, organizations which endeavour to protect children, or the Ministry for welfare of children. There are various helplines which you could call. If you think that legislation, green papers or organizational rules threaten - or do not support - the rights of children, make your voice heard.
